Thanksgiving with our Loved Ones

We were so fortunate to share Thanksgiving this year with many of our loved ones. We were so grateful for their sacrifices to be with us on this special holiday.

Grampa Barry and Grammy Su traveled from Utah.
Uncle Mark, Aunt Melinda, Calista, Kensington and Luke traveled from Texas.
Papa, Grandma, Uncle Eric, Aunt Gwenda and Titan traveled from Michigan.
Uncle PJ, James and Hanah traveled from Illinois.
Uncle Hardy, Aunt Ramona, Hardy Lee, Blake, Shawn and Lydia traveled from Apple Valley.
And LeAnne traveled all the way from the hospital in Burnsville!

We love them all and it was so fun to spend this great weekend together. Here are a couple glimpses of our Thanksgiving Day.

Fun with Papa, Kitchen Style

One of the kids' favorite pastimes is baking with Papa Jim. He loves to cook and the kids love to help him. Papa is still deciding if he loves for them to help him! After Thanksgiving, they made gingersnaps and homemade egg noodles. The cookies were consumed quickly and the turkey and noodles soup was the best ever! Thanks Papa for sharing your talents with us!

Court of Honor

Riley Loves Scouts and is quite the eager beaver to experience all things scouting. He loves his leaders and friends and can't wait for the next merit badge activity, campout or service project. We are very proud of his enthusiam and willingness to participate in and love scouts. He is even gung-ho about participating in a campout this Friday while all our family is in town...we'll see about that!

Tonight at the Court of Honor, Riley recieved his First Class Rank Advancement and the following merit badges: Basketry, Wood Carving, Citizenship in the World, Emergency Preparedness, Indian Lore and First Aid. When his leader asked him to share an experience from earning these merit badges, Riley commented that he remembered the day at scout camp when they worked on the wood carving merit badge, because it was a very bloody day!

Trick or Treat

The annual pilgrimage around the neighborhood to gather as much candy as you can in an hour and a half. It was a cold night and the girls each had on about 3-4 layers under their costumes. Riley declared himself too old for trick or treating this year and stayed home to pass out the candy and babysit Lydia. I think the girls got plenty of treats to share with him!
