Back Yard Friend

This Red-Tailed Hawk is our frequent back yard visitor. On this particular day, we watched him for a long time and then decided we should have been snapping pictures of him. We were able to snap a few...

Best Cousins Ever

At the beginning of the summer, we had these two cuties come stay with us for awhile. We love James and Hanah very much and love having them with us. As you can tell from these pictures...these 4 are the BEST COUSINS EVER!

End of the School Year

The end of the school year is always full of activities. Here are a couple of them:

Jamie and Sidney participated in the end of the year Talent Show, because they performed with a group of students from 2nd grade, 3rd grade and 5th grade, they got to perform 3 times!

Jamie ended 5th grade with her D.A.R.E. graduation. She loved the D.A.R. E. program and will reflect many times on the information she learned as she continues to make good choices in her life.

Sunshine on a Rainy Day

It has been raining all day,
and I am so grateful for these gorgeous flowers
that have brightened my day!!

These Red Roses came from my dear, wonderful husband
on our 15th Anniversary

These beautiful flowers were from a dear friend for my birthday
and they cheer up my kitchen window!

These Yellow Lilies are blooming right beneath my living room window!

Anniversary Trip to Florida - The Wekiva River

We spent a gorgeous day kayaking on the Wekiva River in Central Florida. Brent has been an avid bird watcher since 5th grade and he was able to spot 10 new birds on our Florida vacation! Kenny was a terrific guide and we highly recommend Central Florida Kayaking Tours. We can't wait to take the kids back and try out another of their tour packages.

Here are some great pictures of the scenery and plentiful wildlife and birds we saw!

Anniversary Trip to Florida

This year was our 15th Wedding Anniversary. Brent doesn't travel much for work, but this year he had a convention to attend in Orlando, Florida....so we extended his trip and I joined him for 4-1/2 days in the Sunshine State.

We started out in Orlando with a fun night attending the final events of Brent's conference. We had dinner at our favorite restaurant, Oceanaire, and then attended a Carlos Santana concert. It was very fun! The next day we attended the Orlando Temple, did a little shopping and made our way over to Daytona Beach.
We settled in at my Grandparents house and went out to enjoy some more delicious seafood. Thanks Grandpa and Grandma for letting us enjoy your home!
We enjoyed driving around in this beautiful automobile...it was great fun. Our favorite ride was driving down Florida's A1A from St. Augustine to Daytona Beach, it was a beautiful drive!
The Rest of the Trip: On the river/kayaking trip we took which I will post in a separate post....I dropped my camera in the river. Luckily after a day, the camera dried out and is A-Okay. For the day it was drying, I purchased a cheap disposable camera and took some great pictures...but now I can't get the pictures off the cheap disposable camera...I will keep trying and post them when and if I recover them!

Memorial Day and My Birthday at Valley Fair

Every few years my birthday falls on Memorial Day! We were thrilled to have a day off for all of us with nothing on the calendar (a rarity around here)! So, we spent the day at our local amusement park, one that we have never visited before.

We had a great time and were pleased that the lines were not too long. Sidney was the ride trooper of the day and did not sit out on any rides, the rest of us took breaks several times. Brent and I really felt our age and realize now that roller coasters do not agree with us like they use to! Our favorite ride of the day was the Wild Thing and we vow to never again ride the Renegade. Next year our challenge is to try out Steel Venom.
