Surgery and the Hospital

After a school year of many sicknesses, we saw a specialist and scheduled a surgery for Jamie to have her tonsils and adenoids removed. We planned the surgery for the end of the summer after our many trips and adventures.

Here is Jamie right before heading into surgery, she is not excited about getting her IV.

Here is Jamie's teddy bear, TEX, right after surgery....Jamie said they couldn't find his tonsils, so they just removed some fluff!
Jamie's surgery went well and after 4 hours in recovery, we were on our way home. Jamie was recovering well until the next day. The anesthesia and the pain medication were too much for Jamie's very sensitive stomach and by the end of the day, we were headed back to the hospital. Jamie was admitted and she spent the next 6 days in the hospital while they managed her fluid intake and pain and nausea medication. Finally, they found the right combination to put Jamie's stomach at ease and 2 days before her birthday we came home! Jamie recovered fairly quickly after that, and within a week she was back to normal and eating a normal diet. We are praying for a much healthier year!

This is Jamie on the day the doctor visited and said she could go home, very happy girl!

This is Jamie with the apron and beautiful flowers from her Grandma and Papa.
